First let’s be clear, organic search engine traffic isn’t a thing which you can get quickly; it is a ongoing process which involves  refining, amending, tweaking and monitoring your website code and content to get optimum results. Its similar to fine tuning a car engine. You will not be able to see the difference from outside, but you could most certainly feel the benefits.

Its really nice to have a gorgeous good looking website but it is useless if anyone is not looking at it of finding it through search engines. When it comes to the online business you should make sure that you are targeting the correct audience and getting traffic to your website much as possible. You have to be easily found on search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo.

Further you must keep track of from where your traffic is coming from and continue improving your keyword listings on search engines. Optimizing your website is a fine art, below are a few tips which you could find interesting.

  • Make sure your website is table-less CSS/DIV HTML code and validated with W3C.
  • Use the Title and Alt tags effectively for links and images throughout the site.
  • Include keywords in header tags.
  • Individual pages should have unique Titles, and Meta keywords/Descriptions.
  • Build in-bound and out-bound links.
  • Create a XML sitemap and submit it to major search engines such as Google, Yahoo & Bing.
  • Set up Google Analytics to track visitor data.
  • Submit the site to local business directories.
  • Join discussions on forums/blogs and link back to your website with appropriate keyword links.

Hope these few tips were useful to you, further tips will be posted in a few days..!!

  1. Thank you for the tips. Do alt tags help a lot with Google ranking? How much importance does it have ?

  2. It is one of the top 10 factors which Google algorithm checks. Even though its very important, you have to balance the keyword densities. If not it will be considered as Spam.
